Tennis is probably one of the easiest sports to master because the rules for playing tennis are very simple and easy to learn. This is also a reason for the wide popularity of tennis. Originated in England, the game has spread all over the world and today, you can see tennis associations and players at any part of the world.
The Tennis Game is a sport which needs minimum investment in terms of equipment and two people can play the game. This makes tennis one of the easiest games to play in various occasions.

The tennis court is the most important part of tennis matches because there are specific size regulations for a tennis court. The tennis court must be 78 foot in length and 28 foot in width when you are playing singles but for doubles, the width of the court is extended further to achieve 36 foot.
There is a net that split the court into two and the height of the metal cord must be three feet and six inches above the ground. There will be another line which is 21 feet farther from the central cord and this is known as the service area.

In tennis, the opposition players usually stand at the ends of opposite sides and the racquet is used to hit the balls. Only one bounce in the player's court is allowed and the objective is to hit the ball back to the opponent's court before a second bounce occurs. If this does not happen, the opponent will win a point.
The game is usually split into set and each player must try to score more than the opponent so that he can achieve more winning sets.

In singles tennis games, one player gets the opportunity to serve the ball and the opponent will try to hit the ball and return it. When each game ends, the opponents change the serve. However a toss is used to choose the player who is going to serve and the one who is going to return the balls.
The player who wins the toss have the opportunity to choose which part of the court he should start playing the game and the opponent must serve or return the balls according to the toss winner's preference.

When it comes to doubles tournaments, the tennis game court is wider as we have mentioned earlier. In this game two players will be playing from each side and any of the two players can return the ball. The player serves every fourth game in an interchanging manner.
The winner in tennis matches are selected by the scores in the best three or five matches. In women's tournament, the player who wins two sets first win the game. For men's tournaments, there are five matches so the player who wins three matches first will win the game. In tennis, the scoring and points have different names which make the game even more interesting.

The "0" is known as love while "1" is known as "15". Similarly, "2" is "30" and 3 is "40". When a tennis player scores four points, it is called a "game". The scoring situations that help players to win points also vary in tennis. Alternative game scoring is developed by James Van Alen. This scoring system is used to resolve issues such as tie breakers. However, there are slight variations in the tennis scoring system based on the type of matches.
No-ad rule make sure that the first player or doubles team who win four points win the game. This rule can be applied even if the opponent player or team is ahead by two points. In a Pro Set, players play a large single set instead of playing multiple sets. A pro set must include eight or ten games by a margin of two games. This is usually six games in the normal games. The tie break is also 12 points and this is usually played with no ad scoring.

Even for the tennis court, the materials used must be of four types approved by the Tennis Organization. Based on the surface used, the bouncing height and speed of tennis balls can differ. This is quite significant when you are learning tennis.
Red and green clay is used to create tennis courts but today, green clay is the most common material used for tennis courts all over the world. Red clay is used in French open tournaments and some Latin American as well as European tournaments. However, Green clay is primarily used in United States but you can notice the presence of this clay in many international courts.

Hard tennis courts are made up of acrylic. This is made up of mixtures of asphalt and concert as well. Needless to say, these courts are quite faster and the bouncing height is also higher. Compared to clay based courts, one can say that hard courts are faster. When it comes to Wimbledon, something from Mother Nature makes its way to tennis courts.
It is nothing other than grass. Grass courts are also known for the fast pace of balls and the erratic nature of bouncing. However, the Wimbledon courts used these days are not as fast as the earlier courts because the authority has slowed down the courts.

The officials in most professional play and the amateur Tennis games are following rules implied by their national authorities and international organizations. There are different grips to play the Tennis game and continental is the main type of grip. The handshake grip is also well known so is the eastern grip. For right handed players, the forehand is a stroke that begins from the right side of the body which continues through the body when a contact is made with the ball.
